Washington, D.C. – Today, the Department of Energy announced awards from the Office of Clean Energy Demonstrations’ Industrial Demonstrations Program dedicated toward decarbonizing heavy industry in the U.S. In response, Mike Williams, senior fellow at the Center for American Progress, issued the following statement:
These investments are among the most innovative efforts in the world by a national government to clean up its heavy manufacturing sectors. This is part of the Biden administration’s historic effort to revitalize the American economy so that it supports working people and rebuilds domestic manufacturing. Thanks to these investments, the United States will stay at the forefront of developing a cleaner, low-emission industrial sector.
