Washington, D.C. – Today, Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), the original architect of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), joined the Center for American Progress to deliver a keynote address about the importance of keeping the CFPB independent and the potential harms of the 5th Circuit Court’s decision, should it be upheld after the Supreme Court hears oral arguments on the CFPB v. Community Financial Services Association of America (CFSA) case.
“The CFPB is under attack because it is good at what it does,” Sen. Warren said. Later in her remarks, she reaffirmed, “The CFPB is not up for sale. It will not be sold for parts.”
