RELEASE: Darryl Banks Joins the Center for American Progress as Vice President for Energy Policy
Washington, D.C. — The Center for American Progress announced today that R. Darryl Banks will join the organization as Vice President for Energy Policy. At the Center for American Progress, Banks will contribute to initiatives that promote a clean energy future with abundant good green jobs.
Prior to joining American Progress, Banks served as the deputy director of the Nature Conservancy’s New York state affiliate. He has also served as deputy commissioner of the New York state Department of Conservation, had a long tenure at the World Resources Institute, and held senior positions at a number of private-sector firms. Banks is a published author in the areas of renewable energy and clean energy technologies, carbon management, corporate sustainability, and environmental management services.

Banks has also served as president and owner of RBD Consulting since 2002. RBD Consulting is an energy and environmental sustainability strategy firm with principal-level technical expertise in renewable energy and clean energy technologies and environmental management oversight. In this role, he worked with clients from the corporate, academic, and philanthropic communities to develop sustainable strategies, as well as promote education and involvement in the environmental sciences.
