Washington, D.C. — Michael Negron will be joining the Center for American Progress as senior fellow for economic opportunity on the Inclusive Economy team. In this role, Michael will develop and advance policies to improve economic growth, equity, and financial security, contributing his expertise on business and economic development.
Negron has spent his career at the intersection of economic policy and business working with policymakers in local, state, and federal governments. Prior to joining CAP, Michael served as special assistant to the President for economic policy and senior policy adviser for small business for the National Economic Council during the Biden administration. Before his time in the Biden administration, he worked in state and local government, serving under Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker (D) and Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel. Negron is currently a policy fellow at Groundwork Collaborative.
Negron holds a Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School, a master’s degree in history from the University of Memphis, and a bachelor’s degree in foreign service in international history from Georgetown University.
