Washington, D.C. — Today, the Center for American Progress welcomed Christen Linke Young to its Health Policy team to work on projects related to health care affordability.
Young is a health policy expert with 15 years of service in federal and state government, most recently in the Biden White House as deputy assistant to the president for Health and Veterans Affairs. Christen’s experience spans a wide range of issues, including leveling prescription drug prices, expanding access to health insurance coverage, and supporting public health institutions to prevent disease and promote population health.
Previously, Young served as the deputy secretary of Health and Human Services in North Carolina and held a number of related roles in the Obama administration.
“I’m thrilled to welcome Christen to the team,” said Emily Gee, senior vice president for Inclusive Growth at CAP. “Her years of experience serving at both the state and federal levels will inform our development of solutions-driven health policy agenda.”
Young holds a J.D. from Yale Law School and a B.S. from Stanford University. She resides in Washington, D.C., with her husband and two young children.
