Washington, D.C. — With the Senate careening toward the first vote on its health care repeal legislation as early as Tuesday afternoon, Rep. Mark Pocan (D-WI), Dr. Jeffery Britton, M.D., and Thomas Huelskoetter, policy analyst at the Center for American Progress, will hold a news conference call to unveil new CAP estimates of the number of Wisconsinites that will lose coverage under the Republican ACA repeal bill as well as individual enrollee cost increases in Wisconsin.
Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) remains a crucial swing vote in the Senate.
The brand new analysis of the bill, known as the Better Care Reconciliation Act of 2017, will use estimates from Monday’s Congressional Budget Office (CBO) score, which showed 22 million individuals will lose care under the proposed law.
