Dear Jennifer,

Any day now, your senators, John Cornyn and Kay Bailey Hutchison, could determine whether the policies and laws you care most about are protected for decades to come.

The U.S. Senate will soon vote on whether to confirm U.S. District Court Judge David Hamilton to the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, where more than 24 million Americans are being denied justice as this judicial seat is left vacant.

Why should Judge Hamilton’s appointment matter to you? If you care about any of the issues below, who sits on the federal bench should matter to you:

  • Protecting our democracy and the fundamental right to vote
  • Ensuring justice for the poor
  • Women’s reproductive rights
  • Preventing against all forms of discrimination – from the workplace to the housing market

The composition of the federal bench will undoubtedly determine the direction of future policies and we want current vacancies to be filled with judges who follow the law instead of ideology. Right now, Sens. Cornyn and Hutchison need to hear that you support Judge Hamilton.

Take Action. Contact Sens. Cornyn and Senator Hutchison right now. Tell them to put courts ahead of politics and vote today to end the filibuster of Judge Hamilton.

Call: Sen. John Cornyn’s DC office: 202-224-2934 and Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison’s DC office: 202-224-5922

Without fair courts, and impartial judges sitting on those courts, we won’t have justice for the issues we care about. Courts matter. Let’s not leave their future hanging in the balance.
