How Much Does The Average Woman Make Compared To The Men In Your State?

Researchers at the American Association of University Women gathered the most recent federal statistics on gender wage gap in every state.

Today is Equal Pay Day. Don’t jump for joy. That doesn’t mean all of a sudden women around the country get raises. But it’s a good day to take a minute and think about how much less you or your partner or your mother makes than the men that sit next to them and do the same jobs. In fact, today marks the extra four months it took the average woman to earn what her male counterpart earned in 2012.

Women make an average of 9 percent less than men, even when studies consider education level, job experience and years in the workforce. There are many theories as to why this gap still exists.
