Abortion bans contribute to major delays in care and mean that people must travel far distances to receive care.

Doulas provide emotional, physical, informational, and cultural support to people at all stages of pregnancy, including abortion care. Working in a clinic that treats patients later in pregnancy—after 22 weeks—Liz Bastias-Butler sees many patients traveling across the country after bans on abortion delayed their care.
