Another Crossroads in Syria

Since the civil war in Syria began in 2011, there have been many decision points for the United States: the call for Syrian President Bashar Assad to go; the “red line” decision not to strike militarily; the rise of the Islamic State group and the campaign to defeat it. Each carried consequences for the direction of the war.

Today, the United States is at another crossroads in grappling with the worst humanitarian catastrophe of the 21st century: continue supporting the Syrian Kurds and opposition groups, or not?
