STATEMENT: CHIPS and Science Act Is Another Big Win for US Economy, CAP’s Patrick Gaspard Says

Washington, D.C. — Today, President Joe Biden signed into law the bipartisan CHIPS and Science Act. In response, Patrick Gaspard, president and CEO of the Center for American Progress, issued the following statement:

This law is a true game-changer for the U.S. economy. It will lower families’ costs, create jobs, improve supply chains, speed the transition to clean energy, and enhance American competitiveness. The House should be praised for its quick passage of this measure that’s a huge boost for America’s workers and national security. And it’s another great win for the Biden administration, and Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo in particular, which showed tremendous leadership working with Democrats and Republicans to get this deal over the finish line.
