Meeting the Energy and Climate Challenge

A View from the States with Colorado Gov. Bill Ritter

5:30 - 7:00 PM EDT

You are cordially invited to join the Center for American Progress and Colorado Gov. Bill Ritter for an intimate roundtable discussion on the role of the states in building the new energy economy and fighting climate change.

In the past few years Colorado has emerged as a national leader in adopting progressive policies to nurture a strong clean energy economy and combat global warming pollution. Working with legislators from both parties, Gov. Ritter has led those rapid advances, from enacting successively more ambitious renewable energy standards that have helped create thousands of new energy jobs to paving the way for retiring coal-fired power plants.

But Gov. Ritter believes that the road to a lower carbon future must also run through Washington, even for states that are leading the way. With comprehensive energy and climate legislation now at a critical juncture in Congress, this promises to be a lively and informative discussion.
