To commemorate our 10th Anniversary, please join the Center for American Progress as we host President Barack Obama. The President’s address will focus on the critical challenges that the country is facing to ensure that the workers of today and tomorrow will be able to retire with dignity. The opportunity to build a secure retirement is a cornerstone of what it means to be in America’s middle class, but if current trends continue, too many workers will not be able to retire, much less maintain their standard of living in retirement. The President’s comments will focus on strengthening Social Security so that it continues to provide a foundation of retirement for generations to come as well as ensuring that individuals have better tools to help supplement Social Security.
Doors will open at XX:XX AM. Please arrive early to assure admittance. Large bags, backpacks, etc., will not be permitted into the event.
Entry to this event is on a first come, first served basis. Please note that there will be a bag check/inspection at the main entrance that is very similar to airport security, but large bags or backpacks will not be permitted. Please limit the amount of belongings that you bring to the event, as U.S. Secret Service is required to inspect everything. The following items are not allowed through security: foldup chairs; all liquids; all food; all water bottles (even reusable ones); all sizes of umbrellas; sharp objects of any kind (e.g., keychain pocket knives); and handheld signs.
