Please join Deans for Impact and the Center for American Progress for a panel discussion on The Science of Learning, a forthcoming publication from Deans for Impact. The Science of Learning distills and organizes research around how students learn and connects that research to practical implications for teaching and learning.
The Science of Learning is intended to serve as a resource for teacher educators, new teachers, or anyone in the education profession who is interested in the best scientific understanding of how learning takes place. Deans for Impact believes that as part of their preparation, every teacher candidate should grapple with—and be able to answer—the questions that are outlined in The Science of Learning. Furthermore, Deans for Impact believes that all educators, including new teachers, should be able to connect these principles to their practical implications for the classroom. This aim has been endorsed by a broad group of stakeholders who believe that it is vitally important for all educators, including teacher candidates, to grapple with cognitive science principles and understand their translation to practice.
