AVAILABLE FOR COMMENT: CAP’s Daniel J. Weiss on Obama’s Press Conference Today, Volatile Oil Prices

Washington, D.C. — Daniel J. Weiss, a Senior Fellow and the Director of Climate Strategy at the Center for American Progress, will be available for comment following President Barack Obama’s press conference on volatile oil and gas prices and the turmoil in the Middle East. President Obama’s news conference will begin at 12:30 p.m. Big Oil trade group, the American Petroleum Institute, plans to criticize the expected discussion of data showing increased domestic drilling in 2010, the highest increase since 2003, as reported by the Energy Information Administration. API opposes the use of the Strategic Petroleum Reserve in response to recent fuel price spikes.
