Washington, D.C. – On Friday, May 16, the Center for American Progress will host a discussion of how converging challenges – including climate change, rapid urbanization, political corruption, and an aging population – will increase China’s already intense focus on energy security and exert an increasing focus on Beijing’s foreign policy.
CAP is releasing a new report entitled “Climate Change, Migration, and Nontraditional Security Threats in China,” which outlines the complex environmental, economic, and demographic challenges facing China as it pursues sustainable economic development and increased regional responsibilities.
