Washington, D.C. — On Wednesday, July 9, the Center for American Progress will host a conversation on how best to improve the nation’s school finance system. Our nation needs to do far more to improve both the fairness and productivity of public school dollars. In other words, we need to make sure that schools and districts both get enough money to serve their population of students and then spend those dollars wisely.
At this event, CAP will release and discuss “Return on Education Investment: A District-by-District Evaluation of U.S. Educational Productivity” by Ulrich Boser. Two additional reports also be released: “America’s Most Financially Disadvantaged School Districts and How They Got that Way” by Bruce Baker and “Parallel Lives, Different Spending: A Twin Study of Academic Productivity in U.S. School Districts” by Robert Hanna.
