Washington, D.C. — Trevor Higgins will serve as the Center for American Progress’ senior vice president for Energy and Environment. In this role, he will guide CAP’s work tackling climate change and environmental injustice, drawing on the expertise across the organization.
Previously, Higgins served as CAP’s vice president for Climate Policy; he has been leading the Energy and Environment department in an acting capacity since late 2022. Prior to joining CAP, Higgins was Sen. Dianne Feinstein’s (D-CA) legislative assistant for energy, transportation, and climate change. Higgins also served as a presidential management fellow and policy analyst at the U.S. Department of Energy and the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Energy and Water Development.
Higgins holds a master’s degree in public policy from Georgetown University and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan. He is originally from Buffalo, New York.
