CAP Poll Shows How Americans Want Policymakers To Lower Electricity Bills And Provide Immediate Relief

Rising electricity costs are forcing families to make difficult choices and reshaping how voters think about energy affordability. Spring 2026 polling from the Center for American Progress and Blue Rose Research finds that voters support actions that will lower electricity bills in the immediate term, including a federally backed rate relief fund for states that freeze or lower their electric rates, pushing utilities to make cost-effective improvements, and requiring AI data centers to pay their fair share instead of raising electricity prices for Americans.
