Take Action: Prevent the Cost of Health Coverage From Skyrocketing

Over the course of 2025, the Trump administration and Congress have championed new policies that are set to dramatically increase the cost of health coverage next year. Among these are policies that would force Americans to pay the highest effective tariff rates in more than a century and change the rules for the Affordable Care Act marketplaces.

As a result, in the coming weeks, tens of millions of Americans will receive notices that their premiums are set to skyrocket.

Earlier this year, Congress voted against extending enhanced financial assistance to purchase health coverage that expires at the end of the year. These tax credits have lowered health insurance premiums for millions of Americans, driven the uninsurance rate to an all-time low, and could provide critical relief to soften the blow of higher health insurance costs.

With Americans set to sign up for coverage in a matter of weeks, Congress must reverse course and extend enhanced premium tax credits immediately. Without this extension, millions will lose coverage, putting health care out of reach and leaving them vulnerable to medical debt—while millions more face steeply higher premiums.

In the wealthiest country in the history of the world, that is unacceptable. We cannot let this happen to our fellow Americans. Contact your members of Congress today and urge them to prioritize the health and well-being of their constituents by demanding swift extension of enhanced premium tax credits.

Affordable health care shouldn’t be a privilege—it’s a necessity. Together, we can ensure everyone has the access they deserve. Act now and make your voice heard.
