    Take Action: 12 Solutions to Cut Poverty

    After years of failing to implement common-sense policies to support people living in, and near, poverty, data show that the robust public investments passed in response to COVID-19 are working. But there is still so far to go. As our economic recovery continues, lawmakers must continue these investments if we want any shot at ending poverty in America.

    Tell your Members of Congress to support sustained, bold public investments, including:

    1. Permanently expanded Child Tax Credit and Earned Income Tax Credit, which would give families and individuals the direct cash assistance necessary to ensure their basic needs are met
    2. Permanently expanded the "Safety Net", which includes Unemployment insurance, the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), and more
    3. Substantial investments in accessible, affordable housing, which would help ensure renters and people experiencing homelessness have the support they need to stay housed
