STATEMENT: CAP Applauds Nomination of Scott Nathan to the U.S. International Development Finance Corp.

Washington, D.C. — John Podesta, founder of the Center for American Progress and chair of CAP’s board of directors, released the following statement on the nomination of Scott Nathan to lead the U.S. International Development Finance Corp. (DFC):

President Joe Biden could not have chosen a more brilliant, energetic, or more broadly experienced nominee for this important position. From decades of investment experience in the private sector, to promoting international development at the U.S. State Department, to helping manage a half-dozen federal agency budgets at the Office of Management and Budget, Scott Nathan has excelled in every arena critical to the development mission of the DFC. In his work at the Center for American Progress and overseeing the board of CAP Action, he has brought ingenuity, vision, and a passion for creating a better world. His spirit of innovation will be a boon for the American people, American innovators in both the private and social sectors, and, most importantly, for people around the world striving to build better lives for themselves and their families.
