RELEASE: CAP Announces Former Ambassador Gordon Gray as New Chief Operating Officer

Washington, D.C. — Today, the Center for American Progress announced former Ambassador Gordon Gray will be its new chief operating officer. In this role, Gray will oversee operations for both CAP and CAP Action.

“Gordon has a distinguished career as a public servant, and I am thrilled to welcome him to the CAP family,” said Neera Tanden, CAP president and CEO. “Gordon has substantial experience managing significantly sized institutions in a changing environment. As CAP and CAP Action grow to take on the challenges of this moment, Gordon will help us carry on our important work fighting for a more just and equal society.”

Gray has served numerous roles in government over the past several decades. He was the U.S. ambassador to Tunisia during the Arab Spring and directed the U.S. response as the nation transitioned to a new government.
