Washington, D.C. — The Center for American Progress has announced that Jeff Krehely, vice president and chief foundation officer for the Human Rights Campaign, or HRC, will be rejoining CAP as the new Senior Vice President for Domestic Policy. Prior to his work at HRC, Krehely was the founding Director and Vice President for CAP’s LGBT Research and Communications Project and the research director for the Movement Advancement Project.
“When Jeff first came to CAP, he was tasked with launching the LGBT program and establishing CAP’s policy role on these critical issues,” said Neera Tanden, CAP President. “By the time he left four years later, he had built a team that consistently did award-winning research and advocacy and paved the way for the excellent work the team has done since. We are thrilled to have him back at CAP applying his talent and strategic thinking across a wide range of critical domestic policy issues.”
Most recently, Krehely served as HRC’s vice president and chief foundation officer, where he oversaw six major program areas for the organization, including workplace, school, child welfare, faith community, and health care issues. He also led the organization’s fundraising efforts. Prior to his work at HRC, Krehely built and led CAP’s LGBT Research and Communications Project, where he researched, wrote, and edited publications on a wide range of LGBT issues, including workplace discrimination, gays in the military, youth homelessness, and economic security, among others.
As Senior Vice President for Domestic Policy, Krehely will oversee a portfolio of the Center’s domestic policy work, working closely with the policy and executive teams to advance CAP’s policy goals.
