Angela Kelley

VP for Immigration Policy

Angela M. Kelley is Vice President for Immigration Policy at the Center for American Progress, where she is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the Center’s work on immigration. Angela previously worked as director of the Immigration Policy Center—the research arm of the American Immigration Law Foundation—which provides policymakers, academics, the media, and the general public with access to accurate information about the effects of immigration on the U.S. economy and society. Prior to that, she worked as deputy director at the National Immigration Forum, where she headed its legislative, policy, and communications activities and oversaw its operations. Marshall Fitz

Director of Immigration Policy

Marshall Fitz is Director of Immigration Policy at American Progress. Before holding his current position he served as the director of advocacy for the American Immigration Lawyers Association, where he led the education and advocacy efforts on all immigration policy issues for the 11,000-member professional bar association. He has been a leader in national and grassroots coalitions that have organized to advance progressive immigration policies.

Gebe Martinez is a Senior Writer and Policy Analyst of immigration policy at American Progress. Martinez joined American Progress in the fall of 2009 following a 33-year journalism career. Most recently she wrote a column on Hispanic politics and policy for Politico, a news group that focuses on Congress, politics, and lobbyists.

Vanessa Cárdenas is the Director for Ethnic Media at the Center for American Progress in Washington, DC.
