EVENT ADVISORY: #WeBuildEDU Explores Back to School With Educators, Students, and The Kid Mero of Showtime’s Desus & Mero

Washington, D.C. — This Thursday, please join the Center for American Progress and EduColor for a #WeBuildEDU special back-to-school event featuring remarks from New York State Assemblywoman Yuh-Line Niou, a panel of educators and students, and an armchair discussion with The Kid Mero—co-host of Showtime’s Desus & Mero and New York Times bestselling author. The event will include a conversation inviting additional educators who are Black, Indigenous, and other people of color to share their stories about life during COVID-19 while facing strong calls for racial justice as well as their thoughts on how to reimagine public education to work for all students.
