PRESS CALL ADVISORY: Experts Discuss President Trump’s Environment Nominations Before U.S. Senate Hearing

Washington, D.C. ­— On Tuesday, November 7, John Walke, director of the Clean Air Project at the Natural Resources Defense Council, and Christy Goldfuss, vice president for Energy and Environment Policy at the Center for American Progress, will hold a telephone press conference to discuss the nominations of Kathleen Hartnett White to be chair of the Council on Environmental Quality, Andrew Wheeler to be deputy administrator of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and Bill Wehrum to be EPA assistant administrator for the Office of Air and Radiation.

These experts will discuss the danger that these nominees pose to public health, as well as their potential conflicts of interest. The press conference comes on the eve of a Senate confirmation hearing where both nominees will be considered.
