Washington, D.C. — The Center for American Progress will host a panel of Middle East experts to discuss the Trump administration’s first 100 days of Middle East policy. The event will mark the release of the organization’s new report examining trends and challenges for the administration’s policies in the region.

The first 100 days are a small, unrepresentative fraction of a president’s term in office—but also an irreplaceable moment of opportunity to signal priorities and build momentum. From the anti-Islamic State campaign to countering Iranian influence to relations with America’s Arab partners, the panel will discuss how President Donald Trump has used his first 100 days and what it portends for ongoing policy in the Middle East.

Panelists:
Daniel Benaim, Senior Fellow, Center for American Progress
Jon Finer, former Chief of Staff and Director of Policy Planning, U.S. Department of State
Richard Fontaine, President, Center for a New American Security
Kim Ghattas, Journalist, BBC

Moderator:
Brian Katulis, Senior Fellow, Center for American Progress

When:

Wednesday, April 26, 2017
12:00 p.m. ET – 1:30 p.m. ET

Where:

Center for American Progress
