EVENT ADVISORY: Former FEC Commissioner Ann Ravel on Money in Politics, Polarization, and a Way Forward

Washington, D.C. — On March 1, the Center for American Progress will host Ann Ravel, departing commissioner on the Federal Election Commission, or FEC, to discuss lessons learned about government institutions and the importance of effective oversight. Along with a panel of experts, Ravel will explore the roots of the historic dysfunction that has plagued the FEC in recent years, with its failure to enforce campaign finance laws allowing secret political spending and improper candidate coordination to spread unchecked, undermining American democracy. Experts will also discuss the consequences of grinding government to a halt and demand election reform at the federal, state, and local levels.

This event is open to press. To attend, please RSVP here.
