ADVISORY: CAP to Host CentCom Commander Votel and Expert Panel to Discuss U.S. Strategy in the Middle East

Washington, D.C. — The Center for American Progress will host a discussion on the current and future challenges and opportunities for U.S. strategy in the Middle East with General Joseph L. Votel, commander of the U.S. Central Command. General Votel will offer his regional assessment of the current security challenges and examine long-term strategic trends.

The conversation with General Votel will be followed by a panel discussion on U.S. strategy toward the Middle East to mark the release of the Center’s new report offering a blueprint for the next U.S. administration on the Middle East.
