Washington, D.C. — The Center for American Progress and EPIX will host the exclusive Washington, D.C., premiere of “Under the Gun,” an EPIX Original Documentary executive produced and narrated by Katie Couric. A panel discussion featuring Couric, White House Senior Advisor Valerie Jarrett, U.S. Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT), U.S. Rep. Robin Kelly (D-IL), and moderated by Center for American Progress President and CEO Neera Tanden will follow the screening.
The massacre at Sandy Hook was seen as a watershed moment in our national gun debate, but the body count resulting from gun violence has only grown. Through the lens of victims’ families, as well as pro-gun advocates, “Under the Gun” examines why our politicians have failed to act.
