ADVISORY: CAP to Host Former Sen. Daschle, Heads of D.C. Think Tanks to Discuss U.S. Role in Future Foreign Affairs

Washington, D.C. — The Center for American Progress, in partnership with the Center for International Relations and Sustainable Development, will host a discussion on the current period of global transformation and how the decisions the United States makes today will shape the future of global politics for years to come. The event will feature a keynote address by former U.S. Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle and a panel consisting of the leaders of The Brookings Institution, the Center for a New American Security, the Chicago Council on Global Affairs, and CAP.

At the same time that the United States and its allies contend with conflict in the Middle East; the rise of the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham, or ISIS; and insecurity in Europe, North Africa, and beyond, the world community is coming together to tackle some of its most pressing global challenges. The need for prudent and engaged leadership from the United States is as great as it has ever been. How America chooses to respond to these challenges will shape the future of global politics for generations to come.

The Center for International Relations and Sustainable Development will release the latest issue of their flagship magazine Horizons at the event.
