Event Will Bring Together Powerful Voices From Around the World, Various Sectors
Washington, D.C. — The New Republic announced it will host The Next Frontier of Climate Change forum in Washington, D.C., at the Newseum on July 29, 2015, in conjunction with the Center for American Progress. The policy forum will explore climate change on an international level, with a unique cross-section of climate change thinkers and leaders from government, industry, academia, and the nonprofit sector.
Headlining the event will be White House Chief of Staff Denis McDonough, who will discuss President Barack Obama’s strategy for leading global efforts to address the threat of climate change and explain how the United States is working with other countries to help foster an agreement in Paris later this year. Additional speakers include Gérard Araud, French ambassador to the United States, and Rachel Kyte, vice president and special envoy for climate change at the World Bank Group.
