ADVISORY: EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy to Speak at CAP Policy Conference; Climate Experts to Address Climate Resiliency in Panel Discussion

Washington, D.C. — On Wednesday, November 19, the Center for American Progress will host its second annual Making Progress policy conference. The conference will include a keynote address from U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, or EPA, Administrator Gina McCarthy and a panel discussion on climate resilience featuring CAP Distinguished Senior Fellow Carol Browner, Rockefeller Foundation President Judith Rodin, and Tom Steyer, an investor, philanthropist and advanced energy advocate.

Communities across the nation and the globe are already feeling the impacts of climate change. While actions to mitigate the sources of climate change continue, wildfires and extreme storms are forcing communities to shoulder the cost of a more volatile and unpredictable climate right now. Climate experts will discuss strategies that include both climate change mitigation and climate resilience in order to strengthen communities so they are better able to stand strong against the impacts of increasingly extreme weather events.
