ADVISORY: Joshua DuBois, Tom Perriello to Discuss the Role of Faith in Today’s Political Landscape

Washington, D.C. – On Thursday, October 31, the Center for American Progress will host a discussion with Joshua DuBois, former director of the White House Office of Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships, on the role of faith in President Barack Obama’s life and the space for prophetic voices in today’s political world. The discussion will also focus on DuBois’s new book, The President’s Devotional: The Daily Readings That Inspired President Obama, which sheds light on the values that inspired the president and the challenges he faced.

Joining DuBois for the discussion is Tom Perriello, Counselor to the Center for American Progress and President and CEO of the Center for American Progress Action Fund. A progressive Catholic and international human rights leader, Perriello has a keen understanding of the relationship between politics and faith and helped to launch several faith-based organizations dedicated to issues of poverty and inequality, environmental stewardship, and human dignity.
