Asha Padmanabhan is a fellow on the National Security and International Policy team at American Progress, specializing in U.S. Air Force strategic policy. As an intelligence officer, Major Padmanabhan has worked in the offensive counterair, reconnaissance, and analysis communities, and she has served on Air Forces Central Command and Air Combat Command staffs. Over the course of her assignments and deployments, she has served in the Pacific, European, and Central Command theaters.

Padmanabhan earned her bachelor’s degree and commission from the U.S. Air Force Academy, her master’s degree from Boston University, and she is a graduate of the U.S. Air Force Weapons School.
