Lola Oduyeru is the manager of State and Local Government Affairs at American Progress. In this role, she helps manage the organization’s relationships with state and local governments and external organizations on several policy issues, including immigration; women’s reproductive and economic rights; race and ethnicity; environment; energy; and economic security.
Prior to joining American Progress, Oduyeru was an outreach and engagement specialist on the Intergovernmental Affairs team at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, where she worked on issues at the intersection of state authority and the regulation of consumer financial goods and services, including small-dollar lending, property assessed clean energy, and financial education. She previously worked as a policy and communications assistant in the Missouri secretary of state’s office.
Oduyeru earned a Master of Science in public policy and management from Carnegie Mellon University and a Bachelor of Arts in political science from the University of Missouri – Kansas City. She is a proud Nigerian American and St. Louis native.
