Emily Katz is a policy analyst for K-12 Education Policy at American Progress. Previously, she worked on the intersection of education and climate policy with K12 Climate Action at the Aspen Institute. Prior to that, she researched school health, school climate, and social-emotional learning at Child Trends and was a graduate research assistant at the Harvard Education Redesign Lab. Emily began her career by completing a service year focused on education justice with Repair the World in Pittsburgh.

Katz holds a master’s degree in education policy and management from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and a bachelor’s degree in sociology and policy management from Dickinson College.
