Five Pillars of an Enduring U.S.-India Partnership

In 2017, the Center for American Progress convened a task force of experts from the United States and India to ensure continuing strong relations between the world’s two largest democracies. Its mission is to chart a shared agenda and advocate for that agenda in Washington and New Delhi. Task force co-chairs, former Indian Ambassador to the United States Nirupama Rao and former U.S. Ambassador to India Richard Verma, discuss the five greatest opportunities and challenges facing the partnership in the coming decade.
