At the Center for American Progress, we are honored to commemorate the millions of brave men and women who have served our country defending our freedom and liberty. This Tuesday, November 11, we remember the millions of soldiers, sailors, airmen, Marines, and Coastguardsmen who have served both at home and abroad. Many others have paid the ultimate price in service to their country. We honor their sacrifice.

Today, hundreds of thousands of our brave men and women are in uniform abroad serving their country. We are grateful for their service and hope and pray for their safe return. We also appreciate the many more servicemen who serve around the world on active duty as well as in the National Guard and reserves.

On Tuesday, we remember the countless sacrifices made by all veterans since our nation’s founding and honor those still serving on our behalf. We express our appreciation for them and their families for their service.

Below is a list of organizations dedicated to helping the men and women of our armed forces and their families.
