Since President Donald Trump took office, we have seen his rhetoric and policy choices threaten communities of color. These threats aren’t new for the black community. They have a long history of standing up and fighting back against threats to themselves and democracy at large. Whether it’s health care, criminal justice, economic issues, or voting—African Americans remain resilient.
