Even after the Supreme Court’s historic decision in favor of nationwide marriage, lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender, or LGBT, people still lack basic nondiscrimination protections throughout daily life. This means that while all couples can be married, LGBT people are still at risk of being fired from their jobs, evicted from their homes, and thrown out of restaurants simply because of who they are or whom they love. The Equality Act would modernize the nation’s nondiscrimination laws to include everyone.
