Should Mike Pompeo be confirmed?

As Mike Pompeo, director of the CIA, testifies before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee on his confirmation to be President Trump’s next secretary of State, some of his supporters will no doubt seek to justify his appointment by referring to his five years of service in the United States Army, including his participation in the first Gulf War, as well as his three terms in Congress and 14 months as CIA director, as reasons to confirm him, regardless of his policy positions. They will no doubt try to paint those who oppose him as unpatriotic.
