It’s time for Pennsylvania to turn around its failing schools

Congress is on the cusp of enacting a long overdue reauthorization of the No Child Left Behind Act.

Seven years after the original law expired, lawmakers from both sides of the aisle have finally come together to replace it. The emerging compromise isn’t perfectbut all sides agree it represents an important step forward.

If Democratic President Barack Obama and the majority Republican Congress can find common ground on education policy, so too can Gov. Tom Wolf (also a Democrat) and the GOP-controlled General Assembly.
