The Secretary’s Proposed Priorities for Discretionary Grants Programs

In these comments, the Center for American Progress provides support for the secretary of education’s six proposed priorities and related definitions. CAP also offers some recommendations to further strengthen these priorities, such as explicitly including student voices in community needs assessments, conducting equity audits to better meet the needs of college students, and incentivizing plans to improve all learning facilities—including early learning environments.
