New overtime rules will help workers, their families, and the economy

With the pressure of rising costs and lackluster wage growth, middle class and working families are feeling pinched, and have been for some time. And sure as the sun rises in the east and sets in the west, conservatives say that cutting taxes and gutting regulations will fix everything — all while blocking measures to boost worker pay, like raising the minimum wage.

But this week, the Obama administration is taking a big step to put more money in workers’ pockets.
