Fellow, Progress 2050

Progress 2050 has an immediate opening for a technology-focused Fellow. This person will be responsible for researching and conducting original analyses in emerging technology issues. The ideal applicant should have expertise in technology policy, statistics, diversity issues, and strong familiarity with census, labor, and other demographic tables. In addition, the individual should have excellent writing, research, and policy analysis skills.

We anticipate the term of this position will be five months but are flexible.


  • Conduct and support research, writing, and analysis.
  • Draft policy reports, short policy columns, rapid-response posts, and articles.
  • Collaborate with American Progress’ policy teams on projects and events consistent with team priorities.
  • Develop expertise in assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements and qualifications:

  • Enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program or a recent graduate.
  • One to two years of relevant work experience, which can include internships.
  • Excellent research, writing, and editing skills.
  • Experience working on technology and/or labor issues.
  • Commitment to the organization’s mission and goals.
