WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Center for American Progress is pleased to announce that Megan Smith has joined the communications team as an Associate Director for Press Relations. Her portfolio will focus on economic and health care issues. Prior to joining American Progress, she served as communications director for Doctors for America. Her communications experience includes work as deputy communications director for U.S. Senator Tim Johnson, as a producer at WCBD-TV in Charleston, South Carolina, as well as work on political campaigns and in public relations. Megan holds a B.A. from Furman University in political science.
