Finding Common Ground in the New Congress

Sarah Palin’s advice to congressional Republicans that now is “not a time to compromise” with their colleagues across the aisle should be music to Democratic ears. If the new GOP leadership in the House spends two years attacking the president and mounting baseless investigations of the White House the American public will simply put the Dems back in charge of the Hill.

On the other hand, if Democrats think they can sit back and sling arrows at the new majority leadership their ranks may dwindle even more in 2012. The only smart course for Democrats is to relentlessly pursue common ground and try to get things done even in an increasingly divided Congress.
