Weekly Round Up
Catch Up on the Week at CAP: February 16 - 20, 2009

HEALTH CARE
A Health System that Works
Health care is staying front and center even as the Obama administration and Congress turn their attention from the economic recovery package to the federal budget. Lester Feder and Ellen-Marie Whelan released an issue brief this week on Medicare and Medicaid entitlement reform, Judy Feder and Marilyn Moon wrote a column on why there's no Medicare-only fix for health costs, and the Action Fund's Wonk Room produced a report and charts on the economic imperative for health system reform.
ECONOMIC RECOVERY
Goldilocks and the Recovery Act
The $787 billion recovery package is neither too big nor too small, too fast or too slow, wrote Will Straw and Michael Ettlinger this week responding to attacks on the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. Alexandra Cawthorne also provided analysis on poverty measures in the bill, and Amanda Logan showed how minorities have been unduly burdened by the labor market downturn.
